Jordan University Hospital, Amman, Jordan
Jordan University Hospital (JUH) is the leading teaching hospital in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. As a leader, JUH is also the first hospital in the Arab region, the second in the Middle East and the eighteenth in the world to receive Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation.
Throughout its four decades of existence, the JUH has strived to provide a noble message and a clear vision, based on patient care, for Jordanians, Arabs and citizens of neighbouring countries. JUH also has clear objectives focused on the provision of general and specialised medical care, the advancement of scientific and medical research and the training of students from the health faculties of the University of Jordan and other Jordanian and Arab universities in the fields of medicine, dentistry, nursing, pharmacy, rehabilitation sciences and other health-related fields. In addition, JUH offers technical training and the qualifications required for the medical and paramedical professions at national and Arab level.
We are pleased to offer you, through this website, information about the hospital, its development, vision, mission, objectives and the specialist medical services provided to patients and visitors.
At this prestigious medical institute, we have ensured that all sections and units are provided with the latest medical devices and equipment. The JUH has spearheaded a plethora of surgical and medical treatments, including surgical treatment of epilepsy, surgery for brain tumours and cerebrovascular malformations, cochlear implants, surgery for congenital malformations in children, plastic surgery, bone marrow transplants in children and adults, gastrointestinal capsule endoscopy, laparoscopic bariatric surgery and liposuction devices, infertility treatment and IVF, and treatment of high-risk pregnancies. The hospital has also set up a laboratory for sleep disorders and a psychiatric unit.
The JUH encompasses all the major specialties and medical and clinical sub-disciplines containing (64) different specialties. It also performs around twenty thousand surgical operations a year, in addition to treating over half a million patients a year. The hospital has given considerable thought to the value of medical tourism for Arab and non-Arab patients, who number around nine thousand a year from over 25 nationalities.
In view of the growing demand for healthcare at both national and Arab levels, and the hospital’s contribution to supporting the Jordanian healthcare system in the field of medical tourism, a new section of private suites has been created. It consists of (20) private suites and (3) royal suites with high-level medical and hotel services.
It is our responsibility and commitment to provide the best medical services to our patients at the levels offered by the best hospitals in the world. These efforts have resulted in the hospital being awarded multiple national and global accreditations for quality and distinguished service.
Most recently, JUH received accreditation from the Joint Commission International (JCI), and was granted recertification by the International Standards Organisation, Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Points (HACCP) and the Health Care Accreditation Council (HCAC), all of which are medals of honour and an incentive for the hospital to continue on the path to excellence.”
