BK Plastic Surgery is a former cosmetic surgery clinic in the Gangnam district of Seoul. It suspended treatments on 24 August 2024, then completed closure formalities with the Gangnam-gu public health centre. The clinic no longer receives patients.[1][2]
Founded by Dr Kim Byung Gun, whose initials it bears, the clinic merged with Dongyang Plastic Surgery in 2007.[5] It occupied an entire building in Nonhyeon-dong, near Sinsa station, and was one of the Korean clinics most geared towards international patients. Before the Covid-19 pandemic, it received around 800 international patients a year; their disappearance and competition from new clinics weighed on its finances.[2]
The founder had sold his shares in 2015. At the time of closure, the clinic was led by Dr Kum In Seop (Geum In-seop). In November 2024, BK Medical Group announced negotiations with CHA hospital group to launch a new cosmetic surgery brand.[3][4] No reopening has been announced to date: the website bkhospital.com remains online, but its latest news dates from June 2023.
