Mission & Quality Charter

Bestclinic.co.uk, information on clinics and hospitals abroad

Our editorial charter: how we check our content

Bestclinic.co.uk helps you compare clinics and hospitals abroad, then request a quote from them. We publish two types of content: establishment profiles and articles presenting a procedure with its price. You can consult the sources for each one yourself.

The 2026 revision in figures

  • 96 establishment profiles rechecked one by one and republished in October 2026.
  • 210 “procedure and price” articles currently being revised, one by one, in 2026.
  • A 15-point checklist applied to each profile (details below).
  • A single price reference: one price per procedure and per country, used identically across all our pages.
  • A “Sources and references” section at the end of each profile, with a link to every page consulted.

Who writes and checks our content

Kevin Chiavaro, founder of bestclinic.co.uk, has written and checked the profiles and articles since 2021. He works in French and English. In Istanbul, he visited several partner establishments, including Hisar Intercontinental Hospital, Medical Park, Esnan and Istanbul Aesthetic Center.

To stay as close as possible to reality, he regularly talks to those who work in medical tourism every day: doctors and surgeons, coordinators, medical secretaries, and the telephone reception teams at the establishments. These conversations guide the questions we address; they do not replace the sources cited or medical advice.

He also knows the patient journey: in 2021, he underwent a secondary rhinoplasty in Turkey by Dr Ergin Er, at the Istanbul Aesthetic Center, in the Şişli district. This establishment is a partner of bestclinic.co.uk, and we check its profile using the same checklist as the others.

The core of each piece of content is written by Kevin: the description of the procedure, the prices, the sources, and the frequently asked questions. The writing and formatting are assisted by writing tools, including artificial intelligence: they save him time, and that time goes into verifying the information.

A profile describes an establishment based on public sources. It does not replace medical advice: only a doctor who has examined you can tell you whether a procedure is right for you.

Our role and our model

Bestclinic.co.uk publishes information about healthcare establishments abroad and forwards your quote requests to the relevant partner establishments. We are not a healthcare establishment, nor a medical tourism agency, nor a travel agency. We do not provide any care, sell any procedure, set any prices, or organise any stay.

The establishment and its doctors make the diagnosis, draw up the treatment plan and quote, then carry out the procedure. The establishment also organises your stay: transfers, accommodation. Once your request has been forwarded, we no longer intervene between you and them.

How we are paid

The site is free for you. Partner establishments pay us a commission when a patient who came through bestclinic.co.uk receives treatment there. We forward your quote requests only to partner establishments that match the care and country you have chosen.

We check partner establishments and others using the same checklist. A partner cannot make us change or remove verified information.

Your data

With your consent according to the T&Cs, we forward the information from the quote form, including your medical information and photos, to the establishments concerned. Some are located outside the European Union. We send it to them for one purpose only: preparing your quote.

Sources for the profiles, in order of priority

  1. The establishment’s official website, including its pages for international patients and its versions in the local language.
  2. The official pages of the doctors: profile on the establishment’s website, personal page, directory of their professional body when it can be consulted.
  3. Accreditation bodies, primarily the Joint Commission International (JCI) directory[1], and the health authorities of the country.
  4. Other public sources: the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office for safety and formalities[2], the NHS for coverage[3], indexed scientific publications.

When information exists only in Turkish, Spanish, Hungarian, Arabic or Thai, we look for it in that language. If an establishment’s website is offline, we consult its archived versions on Internet Archive and note this on the profile. We do not take any content from other platforms or medical tourism agencies.

The 15-point control checklist

  1. Activity: is the establishment still operating? Is its website online?
  2. Name: has the establishment changed its name or joined another group? We use the current name.
  3. Address: we compare the address on the official website with a second source, then place it on the map.
  4. Relocation: when the establishment changes address, we review the access and hotels near medical establishments, or we mark them as needing verification.
  5. Accreditations: if a JCI accreditation appears in the JCI directory, we present it as confirmed. Otherwise, we write that the establishment “announces” the accreditation.
  6. Doctors: we list a doctor if the establishment’s website or an official source links them to that establishment. We remove a doctor who cannot be found or has left.
  7. Doctors’ background: we take qualifications, specialty and affiliations from their official page, without adding anything.
  8. Capacities: beds, operating theatres, intensive care beds, opening date. We remove any figure without a source.
  9. Equipment: we list equipment if the establishment mentions it itself.
  10. Specialties: we remove a specialty that is not on the official website.
  11. Languages: we indicate the languages the establishment declares, without adding any.
  12. Prices: we use the establishment’s price list when it publishes one. Otherwise, we present prices as indicative (see below).
  13. Advertised services: transfers, accommodation, interpreter, follow-up. We present them as announced by the establishment: ask for them to be included in your quote.
  14. Country: entry formalities for a UK national and current travel advice.
  15. Reviews: we display reviews from the establishment’s Google Maps listing, retrieved by direct connection to Google, with their source. We do not modify them.

What the 2026 revision corrected

When rechecking our profiles and articles, we found errors, sometimes old ones, and we corrected them.

In the establishment profiles:

  • JCI accreditations attributed to establishments that do not hold them, or no longer hold them;
  • doctors who do not practise, or no longer practise, at the establishment presented;
  • false infrastructure figures: beds, intensive care, number of doctors, equipment;
  • incorrect addresses, including one confused with a neighbouring hotel;
  • establishments that had been renamed, relocated or closed;
  • statistics without a source: success rates, satisfaction rates, number of UK patients;
  • patient testimonials that we could no longer verify, which we removed;
  • inaccurate hotel distances and promised services that the establishment does not offer.

In the “procedure and price” articles:

  • different prices for the same procedure in the same country depending on the page, which we aligned with the single reference;
  • prices taken without validation, which we replaced with the rates of our partner establishments;
  • statistics without a source: success rates, complication rates, satisfaction rates;
  • outdated or unsourced medical information, which we updated using scientific publications and health authority recommendations.

Prices on the profiles

When the establishment publishes its rates, we use its figures in its currency and cite the source page. Otherwise, we display indicative ranges, with the note “only the quote is binding”. Your actual price depends on your medical file: you will find it on the establishment’s quote.

Our prices in your country come from the websites of surgeons practising there, from the NHS for procedures it covers, and from our internal sources. For a covered procedure, we indicate the coverage instead of a price: for example IVF and ICSI up to age 43, and egg donation up to age 45.

What we refuse to publish

  • Statistics without a source.
  • Testimonials we cannot prove.
  • Doctors whose presence at the establishment we have not confirmed.
  • Promises of services that the establishment does not publish itself.
  • Hotel distances we have not measured.
  • Advertising slogans and rankings without verifiable reason.

The “procedure and price” articles

Our blog articles present a procedure (process, recovery, risks) and its price in a given country. We check them using specific rules.

Medical information

  1. Indexed scientific publications (PubMed).
  2. Health authorities and learned societies: NICE, MHRA, learned societies of the specialty.
  3. International professional bodies, such as ISAPS for cosmetic surgery.
  4. Specialised medical press.

We remove any statistic without a source and do not cite any other platform or medical tourism agency. These articles inform you, but do not replace a consultation.

Prices

All our prices come from a single reference: one price per procedure and per country. For the same procedure in the same country, you will therefore find the same price on all our pages. We do not round any price.

  • Prices abroad: our partner establishments give us their rates, which we update regularly, in particular to keep up with inflation. These prices remain indicative: your actual price depends on your medical file, and only the establishment’s quote is binding.
  • Prices in your country: we take them from the websites of surgeons practising there, from the NHS for procedures it covers, and from our internal sources.

Translated versions

We write and check our profiles and articles in French, then translate them into other languages. In case of any discrepancy, the French version prevails.

The limits of our checks

We do not assess the quality of medical procedures. A profile or article describes the situation at a given date: between two revisions, an establishment may change its team, its prices or its address.

Before you commit, ask the establishment for a written quote specifying the surgeon’s name, the procedure, the total price and the services included. Also talk to your GP and plan your follow-up on your return.

Report an error

Have you spotted an error, an outdated price, a doctor who no longer practises or a closed establishment? Report it via our contact form. We check every report and correct the page if the error is confirmed.
