Services provided by the Intermediary

The Intermediary offers an online intermediation service: it stores and publicly disseminates information provided by third-party healthcare establishments (hereinafter “the Establishments”) and puts users of the Site (hereinafter “the Users”) in contact with these Establishments.

This service includes:

  • the referencing and display of content and services for reconstructive, plastic, cosmetic, hair transplant, dental, bariatric surgery and reproductive medicine offered by third-party Establishments;
  • connecting Users with partner Establishments.

The connection is made via the “Personalised quote” form on the Site. The User specifies their request (desired treatment and country). The Intermediary then automatically forwards this request to the Establishments matching these criteria.

Important information

The Intermediary is neither a medical tourism agency, nor a travel agency, nor a healthcare establishment. It does not organise travel and does not book transport, accommodation or transfers: these services, when they exist, are offered directly by the Establishments.

The Intermediary plays a technical role in connecting (i) Users wishing to obtain care quotes and (ii) Establishments offering such care. After the connection is made, it does not intervene in the services offered and provided by the Establishments.

The information describing the Establishments and their services is that provided by the Establishments themselves or published on their own websites. The Intermediary does not verify this information. It does not control the conformity of the Establishments, nor the qualifications, certifications or accreditations of their practitioners, nor compliance with quality and safety standards of care.

The steps following the connection are carried out exclusively between the User and the selected Establishment(s): pre-diagnosis, quote, exchange of information, signing of the care contract, provision of care, post-operative follow-up. It is the User’s responsibility to request all relevant information from the Establishment before committing.

The provision of care is the sole responsibility of the Establishment that provides it. The liability conditions of the Intermediary are set out in the GTC, subject to applicable mandatory provisions of law.

The information published on the general information pages and on the blog is not exhaustive and expresses the views of their authors. It is provided for informational purposes and does not constitute medical advice or consultation. Prices indicated are estimates and do not constitute an offer. This information does not replace a diagnosis or treatment: only a doctor is qualified to establish a diagnosis and prescribe appropriate treatment.

Referencing and ranking rules

Referencing criteria for Establishments

The referenced Establishments offer services in reconstructive, plastic, cosmetic, hair transplant, dental, bariatric surgery and reproductive medicine. They may be clinics, hospitals or any other structure dedicated to surgery or facial and body care. They are located abroad, within the European Union (Spain, Cyprus, Hungary, etc.) or outside (Turkey, United Arab Emirates, Tunisia, etc.). Each referenced Establishment has a presentation page.

Partner Establishments and Intermediary remuneration

Some referenced Establishments are commercial partners of the Intermediary. They are identified as “Partner Establishment” on their page.

The service is free for the User. The Intermediary is remunerated by partner Establishments, as a commission on the care provided to patients connected through the Site.

“MeilleureClinique” Establishments

The “MeilleureClinique” label is intended for Establishments declaring that they meet all of the following criteria:

  • Joint Commission International accreditation (quality and safety of care);
  • ISAPS membership;
  • ASAPS membership;
  • minimum Google rating of 4 out of 5;
  • commitments to patients: minimum reflection period after the quote, post-operative follow-up, professional liability insurance.

These criteria are based on the Establishments’ declarations, which the Intermediary does not verify. To date, no Establishment displays this label on the Site: verification procedures are underway before any attribution.

Site organisation and ranking

The Site mainly comprises three types of pages:

  • Category pages: cosmetic surgery, hair transplant, bariatric surgery, ART/IVF, dental care. Each category lists the relevant Establishments. A drop-down menu presents the treatments by category.
  • Establishment pages: each Establishment has a presentation page. The User can filter Establishments by country, city and treatment (liposuction, rhinoplasty, etc.). The official website of the Establishment is accessible from the “Reviews” section at the bottom of its page, by clicking on its name.
  • Blog pages: general and non-medical information on treatments (definitions, price estimates, frequently asked questions, etc.).

A search engine allows users to find pages corresponding to keywords (e.g. liposuction Turkey).

The displayed Establishments depend on the criteria chosen by the User: treatment category, keywords entered in the search engine, location (country, city). Results are displayed in chronological order of referencing, from most recent to oldest. This order is not influenced by commercial partnerships or by the Intermediary’s remuneration.

Reviews displayed on the pages

The reviews displayed on Establishment pages come exclusively from Google Reviews. They are imported automatically via Google’s API, without modification or selection by the Intermediary, and are displayed with their date and in the order provided by Google.

The Intermediary does not verify that the authors of the reviews actually received care from the relevant Establishment, and does not moderate these reviews. Their publication and moderation are governed by Google’s content policies. To report a review or respond to it, the author or the Establishment must contact Google directly.

Conditions for de-referencing

The Intermediary may de-reference an Establishment that no longer meets the referencing criteria described above, with which the commercial partnership has ended, which is the subject of a report of illegal content, or at the request of an authority or a court.

Reporting illegal content and contact point

Any person or entity may report to the Intermediary a content on the Site that they consider illegal or erroneous, via the contact form or by email at contact@meilleureclinique.fr. This address also serves as the single point of contact for authorities and Users under Regulation (EU) 2022/2065 on digital services. Accepted languages: French and English.

The procedure for handling reports is described in the GTC.

Personal data protection

As part of the intermediation service, the Intermediary processes personal data, including health-related data (desired treatment), transmitted to Establishments, including outside the European Union. These processing operations are described in the privacy policy.

Intellectual property

The Site and all its elements (texts, structure, logos, database) are protected by the French Intellectual Property Code. Any reproduction, representation, adaptation or distribution, in whole or in part, without the written authorisation of the Intermediary is prohibited and constitutes an infringement (articles L.335-2 et seq. of the Intellectual Property Code).

The Site uses open source software and libraries, used in accordance with their licences.

The images on the Site come from Pixabay.com, Shutterstock.com (account no. 300944897) and Depositphotos.com (account no. 22347598). Each image is used in accordance with the licence and terms of use of the relevant platform. Licence certificates are available upon written request to contact@meilleureclinique.fr.

Telephone canvassing

The Intermediary does not carry out any telephone canvassing. The Establishments contact the User only following their quote request and with their prior consent, collected in the “Personalised quote” form.
